Over The Years we've converted lots of Sportsmobiles with special dog considerations, and other pets too, including cats, birds, and a snake.

Most Owners have only one small dog, and only need space for a small crate. Others have several dogs requiring space for multiple crates, special cabinets and other needs. Some owners show their dogs throughout the country, and need grooming equipment storage.

Whatever Your Needs we will be happy to work with you. We'll build and equip it your way, whether it is a simple canine transport van or a luxurious self-contained motorhome.

Concerned about stopping for lunch, sightseeing or shopping when the weather is hot? Some owners report that they simply let the van's engine idle for a while when they park. You might want to put a note on the windshield saying "The dog is OK - A/C is on." Also be sure that your gas tank is not low, leave a couple of windows down a little and lock the doors. Do not park over dry grass as the catalytic converter could start a fire. Note: in some states it is illegal to leave the engine running in an unoccupied vehicle.

Various paging systems are available with a temperature sensor and high and low settings that you determine. When the temperature reaches one of these settings, an automatic two-way pager will alert you by audio and/or a vibrator. No service is required. Portable. Long-range antenna optional. Other options are available such as engine start, turn on A/C, attic fan and engine heater.

For more information on heating and cooling your Sportsmobile when driving or parked, see the Ford/Chevy Heating & Cooling page or Sprinter Heating & Cooling page.

This Sportsmobile includes a low-profile Contempo fixed top. Third and fourth captain's seats are removeable.

The aluminium crates are removeable and have front and rear doors. They measure 36"L x 24"W x24"H. The van floor and 18" up the side walls were coated for high durability. Simple hose out for cleaning. For more information on these custom crates seek see www.kustomkrates.com.

Sportsmobile has lots of standard floor plans you can select from or modify. You can also design your own. The plan to the right is the Ford/Chevy RB-50, or RB150S for Sprinters. Rear bed mattress slides out to install the crates.

Crates can face to the front, rear or sideways. Storage compartments or platforms can be to your design. A generator can be installed under the van's floor. The under floor storage compartment shown in the center photo is an option.

These crates have doors on both ends. Crates were custom-made for the available space in the van.

There's lots of storage under the crates with compartments to the owner's specifications.

'06 Sprinter shown

Ruth travels with her dogs primarily for pleasure. The crates removable support shelf allows for 30" of storage length below. She also uses her Sprinter to transport her dogs to shows.

Three of Ruth's dogs ride in the rear crates. The fourth one, spoiled, rides up front.

Dinettes will convert into a 48" x 67" bed. For two 30" x 74" twin beds, the two extension cushions can be placed on top of the rear shelf under the crates.

A combo bath compartment with a marine toilet, shower and sink is located behind the driver's seat.

For easy storage access, slide out the 1,000-pounds-capacity tray. Also see this tray on the Toy Hauler page for more storage ideas.

Sharon and Nancy crate their two small dogs upstairs in the overhead cab compartment. A metal grill provides light and ventilation.

Professional Dog Handlers, On the Go

Mrs. Jackson will use her Sprinter to show dogs throughout the United States. Some of her requirements were fuel efficiency, lots of dog crate and storage space, a small galley area, sleeping for one and an upgraded sound system.

There's lots of space for dog crates. The floor is tough marine vinyl.

Additional crates can be stacked on top of the 50G water tank.

The dinette converts into a 30" x 67" bed. A table is included.

Groomers on the Go

"Sorry this has taken so long to write, but I have been busy making money with my new Sportsmobile grooming van! I've have had it three months now, and have yet to have a single thing go wrong or be disappointing in any way. It runs PERFECTLY. I have given dozens of tours of the van, and all my groomer buddies are "jealous". I'm so proud of what you have done. The Houston Chronicle has even been out to photograph it, they too were very complementary.

"I'm continually impressed by the quality of your workmanship. Its fun to show it off! Its been years and years since I had such confidence in a product."
